INSHORE FISHING
Striped Bass/Bluefish/Fluke Half Day or Twilight
(4 hours)
The Half Day or Twilight trip is very popular. It is
essentially the same as the Full Day with the exception of the time
spent fishing. Basically we fish for bass and blues in the same manner
as the full day trip. These trips have been very productive and it is
not unusual to get into a real bonanza because for the most part, we are
the only fisherman there. Everyone else has gone home for the day.
Another reason for their popularity is that the trips are short, making
it ideal for fishermen who want to get in a few hours of quality fishing
after work. In recent years I have found that this trip is popular with
families because it affords an opportunity to get a taste for charter
fishing and to see how youngsters fare on a boat.
Striped
Bass/Bluefish/Fluke Full Day Trip
(8 hours)
Perhaps the most popular of all trips is the Bass/Blue inshore
trip.
These trips are typically 8 hours in duration. Most of the time we
travel to the rips located around Block Island and spend 90% of the time
fishing these rips at different locations depending on the various
stages of the tide. It should be pointed out that getting to these
locations requires about 50 minutes each way but for the most part, it
is worth the extra traveling effort. The fishing on these rips is pretty
consistent and it is not unusual to catch bass in the mid 20 lb. range
with the occasional 30 to 40 pounder. Bass fishing usually gets underway
in mid May and is in full swing by early June continuing right into
November. The first good size catches of jumbo fluke start to take hold
by Memorial Day weekend. We take full advantage of that situation by
targeting fluke as well as bass on these trips. Sometime in late June
the first of the season Bluefish make their presence known. Before you
know it these toothy critters are competing for equal time on your hook.
If excitement and fast action are what you would like, then this is the
trip for you. Come and join us on one of these trips. You'll be glad you
did!!!
OFFSHORE FISHING
Sharking Safari Trip
(10 hours)
In the past 20 years I have become more involved in offshore fishing.
One of the most exciting types of offshore trips is SHARKING. During the
summer months the offshore waters around Block Island play host to many
varieties of shark including: Blue, Sandbar, Hammerhead, Thresher, Mako,
Tiger and Great White. Shark fishing is a great introduction to the
world of offshore angling and provides a formidable challenge to both
novice and experienced anglers. In recent years a number of articles
have been written about shark fishing. We have been selected by a few
outdoor writers for feature articles about the subject. The reason our
methods were chosen is because they are simple and effective. So why not
come along and experience for yourself the thrill of fighting these
toothy critters on light tackle. I can assure you that it will be one of
the most memorable experiences you have ever had.
